Banded Brothers is a BBC widlife programme about a Mongoose family living in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
It was shown on  BBC 2 and is now available as DVD. Members of the Twinning Project Team spent time with the Mongoose Research Unit during their visit in February 2010 and can tell you that this was a great experience.
The Queen Elizabeth National Park is currently developing an Eco-tourism tour based around the Mongoose Project, sign up as a supporter of the Twinning Project and we will let you have more information.
There is a website run by the Mongoose Research Project based at the Mweya Peninsula.

Laptops Donated by Denplan
 
 
Denplan has recently donated two laptops to the Twinning Project. These laptops will be used by the Project to help bring internet provision to our Twinned Schools in Uganda,
Stuart Mcintosh who works for Denplan is also a Volunteer Ranger with the Queen Elizabeth Country Park Volunteer Ranger Service said that once he explained to Denplan about the Twinning Project and how they intended to use the laptops they were only too pleased to help out.
The Project is very grateful to Stuart and his colleagues for their help and support.

Clanfield Junior School to Twin with Bukorwe Primary School


Clanfield Junior School become the latest school to sign up to the Queen Elizabeth Parks Twinning Project.
Twinning Project members Jan Allnutt, Pauline Warren-smith and Steve Peach recently visited the school and took part in a school assembly.
Jan said that 'she found the children really excited about the Twinning with Bukorwe School in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, they asked lots of searching questions about Uganda and I am sure that this will prove to be a wonderful partnership between two fantastic schools'

Rangers Return from Visit to Uganda
 
3 Rangers and 3 Volunteer Rangers took part in a visit concentrating on the work of the Rangers and staff at Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The team also visited the Twinned schools and sent time meeting with members of the local community.
 
Visit Leader Steve Peach said "this visit was a chance to build on the work of previous visits and will help to ensure that the Project becomes a real part of the community conservation efforts of both Queen Elizabeth Parks"

A series of fundraising events have been planned for 2010. These include a Barn Dance, A quiz night, a long distance sponsored walk and a special Art for Africa day.

 Power Gorilla and Solar Gorilla on trial
Thanks to support from Power Traveller of Alton The Project Team will be trying out these two products on thier next trip to Uganda which starts on the 3rd February,
Power Gorilla is a portable power source suitable for things like laptops, which can be recharged from the mains. The Solar Gorilla is as the name suggests a solar panel that can trickle charge the power Gorilla or it can be used as an independent supply.
We wil let you know how we get on.
