Getting you School or Youth Group Involved in the Twinning Project
The Twinning Project welcomes the involvement of any school or youth group in the local area (by local we mean with 20 miles or so or the Queen Elizabeth Country Park)
We will do our best to twin your school or youth group with a Uganda equivilant and provide support throughout the life of your twinning arrangement.
We are happy to come and talk to your class, school or youth group and get involved in helping you to develop your connections with Uganda.
We are also happy to assist you if you are already involved with a Twinning arrangement with a Ugandan School.
Please contact the Twinning Project at enquiries@queenelizabethparks.org for more details.

.
Would your school or youth group like to get involved in an education or cultural exchange.

We have identified a number of schools close to the Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda who would like to share their aspirations and experiences wit schools or youth groups in the Hampshire or West Sussex area.
(although we are happy to help you if your school is outside this area)

We are especially keen to encourage a dialogue about each schools relationship their local environment, conservation, sustainability and how they are involved in promoting or taking part in local cultural activities.

But the great thing about this sort of Twinning Arrangement is that it can involved just about every area of the school currriculum.

We are very keen to hear from secondary schools as we have a small Uganda secondary school that is very keen to start up a friendship with a school in the East Hampshire area.

Help support Schools in UGANDA

Schools in the East Hampshire and West Sussex are being asked to twin with schools in Uganda.

Kafuro Primary School,Nyakatonzi PrimarySchool, Katunguru Primary School  and Hamukungu Senior School in Uganda have all agreed or asked to twin with schools in England.
Liss Junior School, Herne Junior School and the Harbour School are the English Schools currently involved in the Project.
As well as encouraging the schools to exchange news, views and information on each others school, community and local environment. The Twinning Project is also seeking to improve facilities for the children in the Ugandan Schools by building extra classrooms, buying desks and simple items such as pens, pencils and exercise books.

We also need to help out with the creation of suitable local accomodation for teachers as currently there is a shortage suitable houses resulting in prospective teachers being unable to take up teaching post in these more remote areas.

If you think your schools would like to get involved please contact us using the contacts page of by emailing enquiries@queenelizabethparks.org

Liss Junior School donated £100 to help thier Twin School Kafuro Primary. This money is being used to buy bricks to help rebuild the classroom you can see below.

Ugandan Rangers to visit schools in East Hampshire

It is hoped that during 2010 that a number of Rangers from Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda will once again be visiting East Hampshire as part of the Exchange visits set up by the Queen Elizabeth Parks Twinning Project.

As well as exchanging ideas on best practice with the English Rangers at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, they will be visiting schools that have been supporting the project.

These school children will get the chance to learn about the life of a Ugandan Ranger as well as hearing about how the money they have helped to raise is benefiting the children of Uganda.
