Recommended Reading
If you are travelling to Uganda, particularly the West of Uganda then the Twinning Project would recommend the following books

Uganda's Great Rift Valley by Andrew Roberts
This is a favourite of the Twinning Project and works well as a travel guide as well as a reference book on the Ugandan Rift Valley.
It is well written and the fact that Andrew has worked and lived in Uganda for many years gives it a comfortable sense of knowledge.
You can order this book direct from the author either in hardcopy or as a pdf

                     ISBN: 978 1 84162 309 2

The Bradt Guide to Uganda by Phillip Briggs is also an invaluable aid to travelling through Uganda. Bradt Guides have a good reputation and can be relied upon to give you just that snippet of information you are looking for.
You can order this book via Amazon, W H Smiths and Waterstones. Just make sure you register with www.easyfundraising.org.uk first and remember to nominate The Queen Elizabeth Parks Twinning Project as you charity.

Visiting Uganda to as a student or researcher

If you are a student or post graduate looking for research work or  work experience in conservation, ecology or zooology then the Twinning Project can assist you in finding worthwhile projects with the Ugandan Wildlife Authority.
There are some research opportunities at Queen Elizabeth National Park where, for a fee you can work with researchers based at the National Park and stay in the Twinning Project's accomodation on the Mweya Peninsula.
There are also opportunities in Tourism and Park Management. We are particularly keen to hear from colleges and universities who are interested in making more formal links with the Twinning Project and Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Contact the Project for more details or an informal chat.

'In partnership with our stakeholders, to create and promote an understanding of conserving the biodiversity among the Ugandan public, with emphasis on the young generation'

Situated close to Entebbe Airport The Ugandan Wildlife Education Centre is well worth a visit and a great place to relax and unwind either before you set off to tour the rest of Uganda or to recover before to fly home.
